Wellbeing

FAA Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health condition and at least 1 in 6 employees experience common mental health problems in the workplace. Research has shown that work is the biggest cause of stress which can stop people performing at their best. Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination and research has shown that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is costly to employers.

This workshop provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will know how to recognise and manage stress.

Navigating Changing Landscapes: Developing Mental Toughness and Resilience

To manage the ever changing environments experienced today requires individuals to be more resilient to, and more accepting of change. Rapid and constant change + increased demands = more stress and less tolerance (RCC + ID = MSLT)

This requires a willingness, and commitment to enhance our mental toughness so we can continue to see the opportunities change in life and the workplace can bring, while also managing our levels of performance and maintaining our own mental, physical and spiritual well-being. Heightened mental toughness + increased levels of resilience = enhanced performance and well-being (HMT + IR = EPWB)

Nature, Power and Practice of Self-Acceptance

Using the sailboat metaphor developed by the positive psychology group we focus on how people view and accept self and the environment or world they are living in, focusing on a number of elements that contribute to this view, and how the metaphor can be used to explain concepts like well-being, and be applied in a practical context.

Taking time to explore themes such as self acceptance, self-evaluation, self-identity, unique strengths, opportunities for development, motivation, and well-being either in a professional, leadership or personal context can provide valuable insights that will help you grow and focus on what is important to you in life.

Cultivating Workplace Wellness through Positivity & Self-Awareness

Personal well-being, and in particular mental health in the workplace has moved up the workplace agenda in terms of its importance. Competing demands, additional pressures and increased stakeholder expectations are common features of modern day ‘organisational life’ as rapid change, new technologies and global markets drive organisations to find new ways to gain a competitive advantage and remain sustainable.

Cultivating a healthy mindset to meet the challenges modern day organisational life can bring is a key factor in personal wellbeing, while developing self-awareness and positivity are essential to our growth.

Mindfulness for Happiness, Positivity and Well-being in the Workplace and Life

With so many distractions, and competing demands in life and the workplace, it can become increasingly difficult for people to remain focused, and be present in the current moment. As such, we often respond to people on auto-pilot, and make judgements and take decisions about a particular event or situation without fully understanding it.

Developing a greater level of heightened awareness as individuals has been proven to have a direct impact on our happiness, positivity and overall well-being, and lead to better choices and decisions in life.
